INSPIRATIONS + OBSERVATIONS

Intrigued by the idea that the same thing seen by different people creates friction in the way we each see the world.  Our point of view is so very fluid, ever-changing, and complicated. In this series: A SENSE OF PLACE understands that A SENSE OF PLACE first begins with a point of view. With each painting the subject matter remains, as the point of view evolves-- asking the viewer to consider what is the most influential variable to effect ones point of view? As you fall through the rabbit hole of answers-- is it memory? the time of day? Or just a mood. Consider when creating the basic structure of each painting, it simply relied on where I proverbially stood.

Using an original stencil, spray paint, and layers upon layers of watered down acrylics; let the stencil represent structure, confinement, a strictly held definition, and let the water chased acrylic illustrate fluidity, evolution, the unpredictable conceptually rendering the nuances of finding our SENSE OF PLACE.
